Dr. Ikramul Haq, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, is based in Pakistan, where he is the chief partner of Huzaima & Ikram, Pakistan’s leading law firm specializing in taxation, constitution and corporate laws. With 30 years’ experience of local and international tax, Dr. Ikram enjoys an internationally acclaimed reputation of employing a pragmatic approach to his advice. Working predominantly with banking companies, Dr. Ikram has provided structuring and transactional advice on the full range of corporate tax activities, including M&As, reorganisations, and structured finance. Dr. Ikram’s proactive advice includes international structuring of inbound activities by multinational enterprises. A recent key transaction included advice on a US$5 billion acquisition of a bank. As a result of his experience, he was selected by IBFD to write the country chapter on Transfer Pricing, Tax and Business Laws and Advance Rulings for its publications. He is author of 19 books and over 1500 articles on taxes, public finance and political economy. Dr. Ikram recently co-authored a book titled ‘Pakistan: Enigma of Taxation‘. He is also a member of International Fiscal Association (IFA). He is a senior advocate and member of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, the Pakistan Bar Council and life member of Lahore High Court Bar.

A key transaction involved providing tax advice on a US$250 million contract for a joint venture between a leading Bangladeshi company and a Pakistani construction company. The two companies were building schools in earthquake-affected areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. She has authored about 15 books and over 1000 articles on taxes and other issues.
